Thanksgiving groaners
Rating (2)
Date: 2002-02-24
This short (93 pages, not including the title page, etc.) book of very droll jokes is intended for younger readers. Including such jokes as 'Knock, knock./Who's there?/Harry./Harry who?/Harry up. I'm starved.', it is definitely not for older readers. Each page has one joke, and roughly every third joke has a cute pencil cartoon.Overall, I did not care for this book; the jokes were all groaners. That said, though, my kids got a bit of a kick out of the book. At ages eight and ten, they tore right through it in minutes. I give the book 2 stars for 'fair.' It just doesn't seem funny enough to read more than once. If your family likes these sorts of jokes at Thanksgiving, then this might be a book you should get, but otherwise I would give it a skip.
